The Accident Lawyers Network BlogAccident Lawyers NetworkTuesday, November 13, 2012Bus Crash Injures 33 Students in New JerseyA bus accident injured as many as 33 high school students on Monday afternoon. According to police, the bus driver lost control of the bus after an outer-rear wheel came off and crashed into trees along the side of the New Jersey Garden State Parkway. Skid marks could be seen in the grass along the side of the highway. Investigators said the inner-rear wheel was still attached, but that the axle was bent. They are still trying to determine what exactly caused the bus accident. The bus belongs to the company Safety Bus. The company's owner said that the bus involved in the accident had problems that needed correcting in the past and was due to be re-inspected. Fortunately, all the injured students, as well as the bus driver, received mostly bumps and bruises. Some complained of neck and back pain, as well. However, four of the students who were taken to the hospital refused treatment and were sent home with their parents. Parents and students praised the bus driver for swerving off the road instead of into traffic.
