Wrong Way Car Crash Kills One in Kansas City

A Kansas City, Kansas car accident killed a Gardner, Kansas man on March 22. Authorities say a BMW driven by a middle aged man was going the wrong way on northbound I-635 at Kansas Ave. and hit the victim's Buick. The victim was killed instantly. The negligent driver was taken to a hospital to be treated. Sadly, the victim was wearing his seatbelt, but the other driver was not.

Witnesses first reported the wrong-way driver at 8:42 am. The car accident occurred just three minutes later as Kansas Highway Patrol was responding. It is unclear why the driver was going the wrong way on the highway at the time of the accident.

The victim was a father to five children.

Wrong-way drivers have killed and seriously injured people over the years. Many of these accidents are attributed to drugs and alcohol or drivers who should not be driving due to their advanced age. However, some of these accidents are the result of faulty signs or even poor weather conditions.

Better technology on vehicles, roadways, as well as simple driver awareness can help limit these types of accidents.

If you or a loved one has been seriously injured due to the negligence of another driver, please contact the Accident Lawyers Network to find an experienced car accident attorney.
