The Accident Lawyers Network BlogAccident Lawyers NetworkMonday, October 25, 2010Two Florida Teens Injured in Car vs. Bicycle AccidentTwo Avon Park, Florida teenagers were seriously injured last Saturday night when they were hit by a Chevy 4-door. Both teens were the same bicycle and traveling north on the shoulder of the road when they were hit from behind by the Chevy also traveling north. According to police, one of the teens was thrown onto the road and came to rest in the center lane. The other teen was thrown onto the east shoulder of the road. The bike was lodged under the front of the Chevy. Police say it appears the teens may have crossed in front of the Chevy. Drugs and alcohol is not suspected. Both teens were airlifted to the hospital. When riding your bike, remember to go against the traffic so that you can see oncoming vehicles. Be sure to wear clothing that makes it easy to be seen. If you are on your bike at dawn or dusk, be aware of the limited visibility of drivers, even if you believe it should be obvious that you can be seen. Don't take chances or risks when you are on a bike. Serious injuries and death are possible if you are hit by a car.
