Heidi Montag Plastic Surgeon Killed in Malibu Auto Accident

The doctor who performed ten plastic surgery procedures on "star" Heidi Montag was killed on Aug. 16 when his car went over a cliff in Malibu, California. Dr. Frank Ryan, was apparently texting just before the accident.

According to his ex-girlfriend, Charmaine Blake, Dr. Ryan lived on a tiny street up in Malibu and went over the edge of the highway. Police report he suffered blunt force head injuries.

Dr. Ryan was texting about his border collie Jill, who was in the car with him. The last thing he texted before going over the edge was a picture of his dog with a note that said, "Border collie jill surveying the view from atop the sand dune."

The dog survived the accident with injuries to her head, eye and paw.

Blake said her message to people was to learn from Dr. Ryan's death and that "people should not text and drive at all."

Texting while driving is illegal in most states, but that does not stop lots of people from doing it. Some studies report that three to five percent of fatal auto accidents are the result of the driver texting while driving.
