Just before 2:00 am Thursday, an officer responding to a report of a robbery was crossing an intersection when his cruiser was hit. The car then hit several other parked vehicles. He was treated for neck and back injuries at the hospital and released. The driver of the car that hit the officer is being held for suspicion of DUI. Another officer in a patrol car was hit earlier this week by a drunk driver and died of his injuries. The driver who hit the officer has been charged with third degree murder, homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence.
